One, two in Brno and the gap is now reduced to 8 points
Last week end was another great proof talent shown by Teutonic-Sicilian couple at the wheel of the Corvette Zo6 of Martini Callaway.
After that the car was rebuild during the summer, Friday session was most of a shake down as neither of the two drivers had the chance to test nor drive since Monza. After a few changes in the set up with not mutch data available Luca and Jourgen went to face the qualifying session where Luca obtained another first row after the one in monza, with an impressive lap that considering the tough competition and the little drive done on Friday makes it really a great amazing result.
Jourgen in his session did a good 4th time that puts him also in position for a good result in race 2.
Luca took the start in Race 1 where he maintained his position where he handed the car to Jourgen that after a not so fast driver change was back at the wheel of the Corvette showing great driving skills but having to succumb to the Riverside Corvette that was greatly driven by Ruffier to the victory. So Luca and Jourgen had to grab to the 2nd place.
In Race 2 Jourgen started the race and did a good stint handing the car to Luca in 2nd position, Luca did a perfect driver change and after passion a few slower lapped cars went to chase the leading Corvette of Peyrolles, that he managed to catch at 10 min to the end of the race.
Luca had well put pressure on the leading car and managed to force her into a mistake that happened in the last esse where Peyrolles went large and gave Luca the chance to pose a great attack that was perfectioned on the final strait of the track. After that Luca pushed in order to keep distance until the end of the race that gave the Silver Corvette the 2nd (actually 3rd) win of the season.
Now the gap between the leading Ferrari and Luca is been reduced by 7 points to 8 points, and we all hope for a good surprise in Dubai where just to remind you Luca has raced and won last year with the BMS Aston Martin DBRS.
So se you all in 39 days in Dubai where the 2007 FIA GT£ CHAMPION WILL BE CROWNED!!
Great week end in BRNO for Luca and team Callaway Corvette!
